Rezervele BNR au scăzut cu 4,8 miliarde euro. Euro a depășit 5,34 lei
The National Bank of Romania reported a significant drop in foreign reserves by 4.8 billion euros at the end of September. Concurrently, the euro rose above 5.34 lei ahead of a crucial S&P rating announcement. Romania's reserves stood at approximately 60 billion euros, down from nearly 65 billion euros in August. The decline was attributed to over 8 billion euros in outflows, primarily for public debt payments. The central bank maintained its gold reserves at 103.6 tons, valued at 12.28 billion euros. The upcoming S&P decision could impact Romania's credit rating, currently at 'BBB-/A-3' with a negative outlook, raising concerns about potential downgrades if political instability continues.
