New details have emerged regarding a cyber fraud incident involving Revolut, where unauthorized individuals obtained sensitive information about around 680 clients. The attackers posed as investigators and requested client data using an email address linked to the Prefecture of Reggio Calabria. Although Revolut confirmed the data breach, it stated that its infrastructure was not compromised and client funds remained secure. The group behind the attack, calling itself 'IAmNotAVillain', demanded a ransom of $3 million in cryptocurrency, threatening to release the stolen information. The Italian authorities are currently investigating the incident, focusing on how the attackers accessed the email address used for the fraudulent requests.
