„Revizia la 30.000 km, o capcană”: un mecanic din Italia explică de ce uleiul vechi poate distruge motorul și ce trebuie să facă șoferii

An Italian mechanic argues that oil changes should occur every 15,000 kilometers instead of the standard 30,000, especially for turbo, diesel, and hybrid engines. He highlights that synthetic oil typically lasts between 8,000 and 15,000 kilometers under real driving conditions. Diesel engines with particulate filters and gasoline engines with direct injection are particularly vulnerable due to fuel dilution. Additionally, he warns that fuel can damage timing belts in certain engines, leading to costly repairs. Chiogna advises changing oil every 10,000 kilometers and ensuring proper viscosity, along with allowing the engine to idle for a minute after demanding drives. Even low-mileage vehicles require annual oil changes.
