Social network X has introduced paid accounts and an over-the-counter payment service, aiming to become a universal platform as envisioned by Elon Musk. The new product, available for premium account holders in the U.S., includes a Visa withdrawal card and offers interest rates up to 6%. Technically hosted by Cross River Bank, the accounts are insured for deposits up to $250,000, with potential guarantees of up to $10 million per user. Users can also make instant, free payments to others on the platform, marking a first for a U.S. social network. Musk aims to transform X into a universal app similar to China's WeChat.
