Retailerul german Globus tatonează piața românească

German retail giant Globus is considering entering the Romanian market, competing with Lidl and Kaufland. Executives have met with government representatives to explore investment opportunities. Currently, Globus operates in Germany and the Czech Republic, with no presence in Romania yet. The company has a long history, dating back to 1828, and has expanded significantly over the years, including a previous venture in Russia. As of fiscal year 2024/2025, Globus operates 61 hypermarkets in Germany and 16 in the Czech Republic, employing around 34,000 people and generating sales of 8.81 billion euros.
