Romania's primary energy resources decreased by 4.1% in the first half of the year compared to 2025, driven by a drop in production and imports. Coal production fell by 17.9%, while oil and natural gas also saw declines. However, renewable energy sources experienced growth. Natural gas imports surged by 30.9%, and petroleum products increased by 27.2%. Electricity consumption dropped by 3.3%, but exports rose by 11.4%. Overall, electricity imports decreased by 9.8%, with significant increases in hydro, wind, and solar energy production.
