These roadmaps will provide clear, step-by-step trajectories for each candidate country, outlining necessary reforms and setting deadlines for negotiations. This initiative marks the first time the EU offers guarantees for these countries' potential membership, contingent on their reform progress. However, other candidates like Kosovo and Bosnia will not receive similar plans at this stage. The Commission aims to clarify expectations and obligations for both candidate countries and current EU member states.
