Two companies in Sebeș, Alba County, are facing trial for air pollution exceeding legal limits. The owners and two environmental officials are accused of falsifying environmental reports. Investigations revealed that between 2022 and 2023, the companies released hazardous substances, including formaldehyde and nitrogen oxides, endangering local health and the environment. The officials allegedly manipulated pollution data to meet regulatory requirements. Formaldehyde is classified as a Group I carcinogen by WHO, posing serious health risks.
