Reprezentant CNCAN, despre siguranța instalației nucleare de la Cernavodă în condițiile nivelului critic al Dunării

Petre Min from CNCAN stated that there are sufficient water reserves to safely maintain the nuclear facility for three days, despite low Danube levels. The river's level at Cernavodă is currently just above the operational limit, but measures are being taken to ensure cooling water supply. A temporary increase in water discharge from reservoirs is planned to address the low levels. In case of a nuclear incident, intervention plans are in place, including evacuation and potassium iodide administration, but these are not automatically triggered by river level limits. Both units of the Cernavodă plant are currently offline due to low water levels.
