ReporterIS: Zeci de autobuze Euro 6 ar circula în Iași cu sistemul antipoluare dezactivat / Emisii cu 28 de tone de noxe mai mari pe an și suspiciuni de măsluire a ITP-ului
The CTP Iași public transport company is involved in a significant environmental and legal scandal. An investigation revealed that the management allegedly disabled the AdBlue anti-pollution systems on around 90 ISUZU Euro 6 buses to avoid frequent breakdowns and maintenance costs. This action has led to emissions of nitrogen oxides (NOx) nearly four times higher than allowed, while the buses still pass technical inspections at the company's own station. The modifications included electronically disabling NOx sensors and simulating normal operation of the pollution control system. This has resulted in an estimated annual increase of 27.6 tons of NOx in the atmosphere, posing serious health risks to the population. The legality of these actions is under investigation by the Romanian Auto Registry and the Environmental Protection Agency.
