Aerial search and rescue missions in Romania utilize thermal imaging technology to locate missing persons and apprehend suspects. Helicopters equipped with thermal cameras play a crucial role in challenging situations, such as finding a lost child or tracking a fugitive. The effectiveness of these missions depends on various factors, including terrain and weather conditions. Recently, a missing child was found after two days of searching, thanks to thermal imaging. Additionally, this technology helped capture a suspect in a murder case. The Ministry of Internal Affairs operates 13 helicopters with advanced thermal cameras, supported by a dedicated team of pilots, mechanics, and medical personnel.
