Relicvele Sfântului Francisc de Assisi vor fi aduse pentru prima dată în România, la Oradea

Relics of Saint Francis of Assisi will be brought to Romania for the first time for veneration at the Eparhial Sanctuary in Oradea from July 31 to August 2, 2026. This event is part of the Franciscan Jubilee Year, marking 800 years since the saint's passing. The relics, embedded in a reliquary bust, will be displayed during the pilgrimage, which includes various religious activities. The solemn reception of the relics will take place on July 31, led by Bishop Virgil Bercea. The pilgrimage coincides with the celebration of the Forgiveness of Assisi, allowing attendees to gain plenary indulgence under specific conditions. The Eparchy invites all believers to participate freely.
