Starting August 2, 2026, new transparency rules for AI systems will be implemented across the EU, requiring clear labeling of AI-generated content. Users must be informed when interacting with AI, including chatbots and deepfake media. AI-generated texts for public information must be labeled unless verified by a human. Non-compliance may result in fines up to 15 million euros. A transition period until December 2, 2026, is allowed for existing systems to adapt to these requirements.
