Regele Charles al III-lea, primul monarh britanic care apare pe o bancnotă canadiană, în ultimii 70 de ani

Canada has unveiled a new $20 banknote featuring King Charles III, marking the first appearance of a British monarch on Canadian currency in over seventy years. The note was presented by the Bank of Canada, with Governor Tiff Macklem calling it a "very special" moment. It features a vertical design and commemorates Canada's role in World War II with an image of the Vimy Ridge Memorial. Canada is the first Commonwealth country to include the king on banknotes since his ascension. The new note will enter circulation in early 2027, following the previous vertical $10 note honoring civil rights activist Viola Desmond.
