The reduced excise duty on diesel fuel will remain in effect for two more weeks, from October 16 to 31, 2026. This decision by the Ministry of Finance aims to address rising fuel prices and support transporters. The temporary 25% reduction translates to a decrease of 701.07 lei per 1,000 liters of diesel. The effective excise duty will be 2,103.22 lei per 1,000 liters during this period. The extension follows a biweekly assessment indicating significant price increases in diesel. The measure is designed to mitigate the impact of rising fuel costs on the economy and consumer prices, with adjustments possible based on market trends.
