The 25% reduction in diesel excise will continue from October 1-15, as announced by interim Finance Minister Alexandru Nazare. This decision is in response to high international diesel prices. Nazare emphasized that fuel prices impact both household budgets and business costs, particularly in transport and logistics. The excise cut translates to a reduction of approximately 701 lei per 1,000 liters. The minister noted that the measure aims to mitigate the economic impact of rising costs and will be reassessed biweekly based on market indicators. He stressed the importance of maintaining a balanced budget while addressing external pressures on the economy.
