Record pentru preţul gazelor - cel mai ridicat nivel de la începutul anului 2023 şi până acum, după efectele războiului din Iran - Economica.net

Natural gas prices on the Dutch TTF exchange have surged to their highest level in 2023 due to renewed military tensions between Iran and the U.S., complicating gas supply ahead of winter. Futures rose by 2.26% to €73.85 per megawatt-hour, with a peak at €75.33. Low European gas stocks and competition for liquefied natural gas (LNG) from Asia are increasing supply needs. The ongoing military escalation in the Middle East hampers the expectation of a quick normalization of LNG deliveries, leading to price spikes. Additionally, maritime transport through the Strait of Hormuz remains below normal levels, affecting gas supply significantly, especially from Qatar, which lacks alternative export routes.
