Shannon-Leigh Litt, a New Zealand lawyer, completed 1,000 marathons in 1,000 days, running over 52,000 kilometers. Her daily runs averaged at least 51 kilometers, surpassing the circumference of the Earth. Despite her full-time job, she maintained this rigorous routine, often waking up between 1 and 4 AM to complete her runs. Shannon initially aimed for 250 days but quickly exceeded existing records, including the men's record of 100 days. Throughout her journey, she faced various challenges, including extreme weather and personal setbacks. She consumed around 5,500 calories daily to sustain her energy levels. As she approached her final run, she expressed relief at the prospect of no longer needing to run such long distances daily.
