Record național la scufundare speologică, în cea mai adâncă peșteră din România. S-au atins minus 815 metri • Newsweek România
A national record in speleological diving was set in Romania's deepest cave, reaching a depth of 815 meters during the Grind Explo 2026 expedition. This cave, located in the Piatra Craiului massif, presents challenges similar to mountain climbing. The expedition lasted from September 11 to October 5, 2026, with teams exploring the Aven under Vârful Grind. On September 23, diver Radu Pușcas entered the flooded section of the cave, marking the national record. Although the passage remains impassable, efforts are ongoing to widen it for future attempts. The cave's temperature ranges from 3-6 °C, and it was first discovered in 1985, with significant depths reached in recent years.
