Suceava International Airport recorded its highest monthly traffic ever in August, exceeding 108,000 passengers, a 20% increase from August 2025. This marks the third consecutive month surpassing 100,000 passengers. The total for summer reached 314,827 passengers, with 712,516 in the first eight months of 2026. Flight movements also increased by about 8% compared to last year. The local council is prioritizing airport infrastructure development, including a new terminal project. The council emphasizes that route decisions are made by airlines based on demand and operational costs, while they focus on modernizing the airport to attract more passengers and airlines.
