Reactorul 2 de la Cernavodă va fi oprit joi
The Cernavodă Nuclear Power Plant's Unit 2 will undergo a controlled shutdown on August 13 due to declining Danube water levels. This decision is precautionary, not due to any malfunction. The reactor will gradually reduce power starting at 07:00, reaching zero by around noon. Director Romeo Urjan emphasized that the shutdown is necessary to protect equipment and is based on forecasts regarding water levels. Recent interventions have extended the unit's operation by approximately a week.
