Nuclearelectrica initiated controlled shutdown procedures early Thursday morning, leading to a gradual decrease in nuclear energy production. The country is now relying on hydro and wind energy, with significant imports to meet demand. The shutdown is expected to last for at least ten days, as the Danube's water levels remain below average. The Ministry of Energy has urged responsible energy consumption during peak hours to alleviate pressure on the energy system.
