Reactorul 1 de la Cernavodă, modernizat pentru 30 de ani

Reactor 1 at Cernavodă will undergo modernization to extend its operational life by 30 years. The project involves upgrading control and safety systems, utilizing the ABB Ability System 800xA platform. This modernization aims to enhance reliability and ensure safe long-term operation, contributing to Romania's energy security. The reactor has been operational since 1996 and has produced over 145 million MWh, boasting a high capacity factor. Additionally, a new emergency plan has been adopted to secure water resources for safe operation amid low river levels.
