Reactorul 1 Cernavodă se opreşte chiar acum

Nuclearelectrica has initiated controlled shutdown maneuvers for Unit 1 at Cernavodă due to low Danube water levels affecting cooling water supply. This situation mirrors a similar incident in 2003, but occurs in a more volatile market context. The loss of 700 MW from Reactor 1 creates a coverage deficit in the energy system during peak consumption periods. While solar energy production remains high, leading to low market prices, the absence of cheap energy from Cernavodă increases reliance on more expensive gas and coal plants. The National Energy Dispatch Center is managing the response to this deficit.
