Traffic police in Sibiu conducted a major operation on October 17-18 to identify drivers under the influence of alcohol or drugs. Nearly 600 tests were performed, revealing several positive results among drivers and cyclists. Specifically, 11 drivers and 5 cyclists tested positive for alcohol, while 2 drivers were found with drugs. Authorities issued 81 fines, suspended 11 driving licenses, and withdrew 20 vehicle registrations. Additionally, seven offenses were recorded. Police emphasize the heightened risk of serious accidents due to impaired driving and plan to continue these checks in the future.
