The controversy surrounding the National Meteorological Administration (ANM) continues as Minister Diana Buzoianu claims that its head, Elena Mateescu, was aware of illegal purchases made with public funds. Buzoianu alleges that Mateescu received an email in November 2025 detailing these purchases, which included personal items. Following an internal audit initiated in July, several employees resigned, and Mateescu only reported the issues in August. Mateescu, however, denies any prior knowledge and states that she requested an internal audit upon discovering the irregularities.
