Poland plans to build four underground hospitals to ensure medical service continuity during emergencies, with an investment of approximately 270 million zlotys. The facilities will be located in Bydgoszcz, Toruń, Włocławek, and Świecie, inspired by Finland's urban shelter system. Designed for crisis situations, they will feature independent energy and water sources, and will also serve civilian purposes during normal times. The initiative aims to enhance critical infrastructure resilience amid rising security concerns in Eastern Europe.
