In July, the annual inflation rate dropped to 8.2%, the lowest in a year, according to the National Institute of Statistics. This marks the first time in 12 months that inflation fell below 10%. The consumer price index for July was 100.58%, with a year-to-date inflation rate of 4.4%. The most significant price increases were seen in services, up 13.67%, while non-food goods rose by 7.93% and food prices by 5.03%. Notable food price hikes included coffee at 19.47% and bread at 7.93%. Diesel prices surged by 30.7%, and rents increased by 42.48%. The BNR forecasts a substantial decrease in inflation in Q3 2026, with a gradual decline expected to return to target levels by the end of 2027.
