In August 2026, the annual inflation rate decreased to 6.2% from 8.16% in July, according to the National Institute of Statistics. The most significant price increases were in services, rising by 11.28%, while non-food goods increased by 6.36% and food prices by 2.62%. Coffee saw the highest price rise among food items at 15.02%, followed by eggs at 10.88%. Notable decreases were observed in fresh fruit prices, which fell by 18.18%. Among non-food items, diesel and gasoline prices surged by 34.61% and 25.49%, respectively. Service prices also rose significantly, with rents increasing by 39.7%.
