Rapoarte ASF: doar șapte din zece mașini au RCA

The Financial Supervisory Authority reports that only 70% of registered vehicles had valid RCA insurance in the first quarter of the year. This affects compensation for accidents caused by uninsured vehicles. Victims must claim damages through the Bureau of Auto Insurers, which is funded by authorized insurers. In the first half of the year, the Bureau paid 45.7 million lei for claims involving uninsured drivers. The ASF noted discrepancies between active RCA policies and registered vehicles, which may include non-functional ones. Driving without valid RCA insurance is illegal in Romania, leading to significant fines and penalties.
