Rămășițele Țarului Samuil duse acasă, în Bulgaria, după 1.000 de ani. Moment rar pentru istoria Balcanilor
The remains attributed to Tsar Samuil are returning to Bulgaria after over a thousand years, marking a significant historical event. This return follows a historic agreement with Greece, allowing Bulgaria to retrieve these remains in exchange for 48 cultural artifacts. Samuil, who ruled from 997 to 1014, is a pivotal figure in Bulgarian history, and his legacy has been a source of tension between Bulgaria and North Macedonia. The remains were discovered in the 1960s, but their identification remains debated. The transfer occurs just before Bulgaria's presidential elections, highlighting the importance of national history in the political landscape. The remains will be placed in a white marble sarcophagus in the Church of St. Sofia.
