In September 2026, ARBDD inspectors conducted actions against illegal fishing, resulting in over 130 fines totaling 83,200 lei and the confiscation of hundreds of illegal fishing tools. They released more than 1,200 fish and 12 kg of crayfish back into the environment. The inspections focused on combating poaching and ensuring compliance with crayfish prohibition measures. A total of 159 inspections were carried out, leading to the removal of 64 crayfish traps and 198 illegal nets. The ARBDD emphasizes the ongoing commitment to protect natural heritage and biodiversity in the Danube Delta.
