Raffel (E.ON): România are cel mai mare preț al electricității

Romania currently has the highest electricity prices in Europe, despite its potential for lower costs. E.ON Romania's CEO, Volker Raffel, emphasized that significant investments in production, storage, and energy efficiency could lead to reduced prices. He noted that while Romanian households pay around 30 euro cents per kWh, the purchasing power makes this cost relatively high. Raffel mentioned upcoming studies indicating that proper investments could significantly lower electricity prices. He highlighted the need for enhanced photovoltaic capacity, energy-efficient buildings, and increased electricity production. Additionally, he warned that the energy distribution infrastructure could hinder economic growth if not developed further. Raffel also discussed the balance of natural gas production and consumption in Romania, anticipating changes with the Neptun Deep project, which could double local gas production.
