Radu Miruță, despre drona doborâtă: „Indiciile incipiente conduc către un model de proveniență rusească”
Romanian Defense Minister Radu Miruță announced that a drone shot down by an F-16 in Buzău County is likely a Russian-made Geran-2. The drone was intercepted over an uninhabited area shortly after takeoff. The operation was praised for its quick response, with the drone being engaged just seven minutes after the Romanian aircraft took off. Miruță highlighted the performance of Romanian pilots in NATO air defense missions, noting that they have successfully downed two out of three drones intercepted in the EU. This incident follows a previous drone crash in Galați, also involving a Geran-2.
