Radu Miruță, anunț de ultimă oră despre debitul Dunării la Cernavodă: ”Planurile au fost un pic modificate”
The interim Minister of Defense, Radu Miruță, announced that the Danube level at Cernavodă is 182 cm, leading to the shutdown of Unit 2 at the Nuclear Power Plant. Interventions at the Bala arm have extended the unit's operation by a few days. The Ministry of Environment's measures allowed for a temporary extension, although initial plans suggested a longer period. The controlled shutdown procedure for Unit 2 will begin Thursday morning, with a complete disconnection from the National Energy System expected by noon. The low Danube levels have prompted these actions, which are standard procedures. Unit 1 was previously shut down, impacting energy production significantly.
