Russian businessmen have contributed nearly 384 billion rubles to the federal budget following President Putin's appeal, amid increasing budget deficits. Contributions surged after a March meeting with business leaders, rising from 15.6 billion rubles to 383.69 billion by mid-August. The federal budget deficit reached 6.455 trillion rubles in the first seven months of the year, significantly exceeding previous estimates. Authorities expect to raise an additional 300 billion rubles by year-end, while also increasing taxes and utilizing social assistance funds.
