The purchasing power of retirees has decreased by 15% over the past two years, with an average loss of 425 lei in pension income. The National Institute of Statistics reports that pensions have not been indexed for two years, leading to a significant decline in real pension value. Currently, the average net pension is 2,700 lei, while the average gross pension is 2,821 lei. The indexation of pensions is expected to occur in January 2027, but at a lower rate than previously anticipated, around 7-8%.
