On September 8, the blood collection point at the Bucharest Emergency Clinical Hospital will reopen, operating Monday to Friday. This initiative aims to enhance blood donation accessibility for residents and maintain a steady blood supply for hospitals. The center reported a 3.4% increase in blood collection procedures in the first half of 2026 compared to the previous year, reflecting community solidarity. The reopening will allow approximately 30-40 donors daily, contributing to the overall increase in blood donations, which reached 62,000 in 2025. The Bucharest Blood Transfusion Center is the largest in Romania, serving over 70 medical units.
