The Social Democratic Party has proposed amendments to the new ANI Law, reintroducing provisions regarding public office disqualifications. These amendments specify that individuals found in conflict of interest or incompatibility will be barred from holding public positions for up to three years. Additionally, the law addresses cases of incompatibility established before its enactment, mandating the cessation of public functions within 30 days. The ANI Law is crucial for Romania to secure nearly 800 million euros in European funds, with a deadline for adoption by August 31, 2026. Other parties, like AUR, have also submitted amendments focusing on asset declaration transparency.
