Protest în fața IKEA: activiștii acuză legături cu tăierea unei păduri seculare din România

Greenpeace activists have presented evidence of massive deforestation in the Poiana Ruscă Mountains, linking the timber to Ikea furniture. They demand urgent protective measures and policy changes. A peaceful protest was held in front of Ikea's Pallady store in Bucharest, coinciding with the launch of an investigation revealing the illegal logging of a protected forest area. Despite being proposed for strict protection, the forest was completely cut down before legal measures could take effect. Greenpeace's findings suggest that the timber likely ended up in Ikea's supply chain. The organization calls for Ikea to cease sourcing wood from protected areas and for the Romanian government to impose a moratorium on logging in designated conservation zones. Ikea claims the logging was legally authorized and disputes Greenpeace's evidence, while the environmental organization emphasizes the ongoing degradation of Romania's forests.
