Prosumatorul: de la beneficiar pasiv la actor activ în sistemul energetic

The number of prosumers in Romania has surged from 300 in 2019 to over 373,000 by mid-2026, significantly impacting the energy market. Prosumers, primarily individuals, have installed a total capacity of 4,148 MW, creating challenges for the electricity grid due to fluctuating production and consumption patterns. While prosumers contribute positively to renewable energy integration, they also generate costs for other consumers, as they are exempt from imbalance payments. The Romanian energy market is evolving, with a push for dynamic tariffs and community energy models to enhance flexibility and efficiency. The development of storage solutions and regulatory frameworks is crucial for optimizing the integration of prosumers into the energy system, similar to successful models in other European countries.
