Canadian company Alimentation Couche-Tard has reached an agreement to acquire Polish group Żabka, which operates Froo stores in Romania. The deal values Żabka at approximately 32.62 billion zlotys, or 8.6 billion USD. A voluntary public offer will be launched through Circle K Polska at a price of 32 zlotys per share. Shareholders controlling 57% of Żabka have already accepted the offer. The acquisition requires regulatory approvals, including from Romanian authorities, as Żabka operates locally. Couche-Tard aims to maintain Żabka's management and brand identity while leveraging its expertise for growth. The transaction could be finalized by December 2026, pending approvals.
