Ukraine has launched the Maiachnia project to establish a network of radio beacons for drone navigation in the Black Sea, enhancing operational capabilities when satellite communication is unavailable. This initiative, led by the Serhiy Prytula Charitable Foundation, aims to assist drone operators in navigating and returning their assets safely, especially in challenging conditions. The autonomous beacons, powered by backup sources, are strategically placed along the coastline to provide accurate location monitoring. This development follows incidents where Ukrainian drones lost control due to Russian electronic warfare, highlighting the need for improved navigation systems.
