Ukraine aims to have a prototype of the European ballistic defense system "Freyja" ready by mid-next year, according to a senior official. The project, coordinated by Davyd Aloian, will see an international committee meet soon to assess research and development costs. Leaders from ten European countries, including President Zelensky, recently gathered in Paris to officially launch the coalition. The goal is to create a viable product that can demonstrate practical results. Ukraine relies heavily on U.S. Patriot systems for defense, but supply issues have arisen. The Freyja system seeks to provide a more affordable alternative, with contributions from various defense companies.
