The President of the Permanent Electoral Authority, Adrian Ţuţuianu, announced plans to introduce a transparency procedure for a draft law on early elections. This law aims to address challenges related to voting rights, particularly for mail-in and overseas voters. Key changes include setting election dates at least 75 days in advance, allowing online registration for overseas voters, and reducing the number of signatures needed for candidacy. Ţuţuianu emphasized the need for adequate funding, estimating costs to be 30% higher than the 2024 elections. The draft law will be presented for public consultation next week, urging political parties to engage in the legislative process.
