Hidroelectrica has awarded a contract for a battery storage installation at C.H.E. Porțile de Fier II, significantly exceeding initial capacity expectations. The project, won by Synergy Construct, will feature 64 MW of installed power and 434.76 MWh of storage capacity, with an investment of 296.8 million lei. This development enhances energy management and reduces wear on hydro equipment, aligning with the company's strategy for hybridizing its portfolio. The procurement process attracted nine bidders, and the final capacity is approximately 70% higher than the minimum requirement.
