Proiect de 225 de milioane de euro pentru stocarea dioxidului de carbon sub Marea Nordului, susținut de Uniunea Europeană

The Havstjerne project aims to capture and store CO₂ from European industries under the North Sea, with EU funding of €225 million. Operated by Harbour Energy and Stella Maris CCS, it is progressing towards a final investment decision. SLB has been selected for engineering work to determine the project's feasibility and costs. The project will allow for the storage of 42.75 million tons of CO₂ in its first decade, using a unique offshore system for transporting liquefied CO₂. A successful evaluation well has confirmed the geological suitability for CO₂ storage, paving the way for further development.
