In October 2026, ten individuals under probation graduated from a professional qualification program in Suceava, part of a partnership aimed at reintegration and combating illicit tobacco trade. Since its launch in 2025, the initiative has supported over 120 beneficiaries, providing accredited training and recognized certifications. The program focuses on vulnerable populations, particularly those with legal difficulties, offering them a chance for social and professional reintegration. The collaboration between ANOFM, the National Probation Directorate, and BAT Romania highlights the importance of public-private partnerships in creating viable employment alternatives and reducing social vulnerabilities. Recent data indicates that illegal tobacco trade remains a significant issue, emphasizing the need for such initiatives.
