Romania has launched a new funding program for energy storage batteries, offering up to 15 million euros per company. The initiative aims to install at least 2,174 MWh of new storage capacity with a total budget of 150 million euros. Applications can be submitted from September 1 to October 30, 2026, through the MySMIS platform. The program is designed for companies in the energy sector, including startups, and supports projects with a maximum aid of 69,000 euros per MWh installed. The selection process prioritizes projects requesting lower aid per MWh, ensuring efficient use of the available budget.
