A new funding program for Romanian prosumers to purchase energy storage batteries is being prepared by the Ministry of Environment, with a budget of 400 million lei. Each beneficiary can receive up to 15,000 lei for systems with a minimum capacity of 12 kWh. Unlike previous programs, funding will be based on a scoring system rather than a first-come, first-served basis. The initiative aims to help prosumers utilize solar energy more effectively and reduce energy imports during peak hours. The program is currently in the public consultation phase, and registration has not yet opened.
